RESIDENTIAL SOLAR ROOFS GRAOWING STRONGLY IN BELGIUM
2020 is becoming the best solar equipment year in Belgium with 1 GWp installed. Belgian photovoltaic installations are reaching accumulated installed power of 6 GWp, which represents the power of six nuclear reactors according to statistics from APERe (Association for the Promotion of Renewable Energies). France has connected an additional 973 MW.
Belgian photovoltaic installations are now accounting for a significant share of the electric mix. In 2020, they produced slightly over 5 TWh of solar electricity according to ELIA, i.e. 30% of the equivalent of the consumption of Belgian dwellings (3,500 kWh/year per household).
Small installations (no more than 10 kWp) account for 60% to 65% of the installed power. Private individuals therefore have the large majority of photovoltaic installations in Belgium. Several installations in individual houses see the light of day every week with our GSE IN-ROOF SYSTEM.
