THE NUMBER OF SMALL PV INSTALLATIONS INCREASES BY 50% IN SWEDEN IN 2020
19,000 new PV arrays with an output of up to 20 kWp were connected to the electricity grid last year, giving an output of 197 MWp. Sweden now has almost 57,000 solar roofs with an average capacity of 10 kWp!
All municipalities now have at least one grid-connected PV system.
“Private individuals account for the vast majority of PV installations in Sweden. Several installations on individual houses are being built every week with the GSE IN-ROOF SYSTEM. This is the case of this house where the roof is made of 40 solar panels. Our client wanted to preserve the aesthetics of the roof and produce and consume its own green energy” according to Julien Dubuisson, in charge of the Scandinavian market at GSE Intégration.
“It is a preconceived idea that solar panels only work at the equator. We also have good conditions for solar energy in Sweden,” says Anna Werner, CEO of the association Svensk Solenergi, “Sweden is one of the largest countries in Europe with a huge unexplored potential for solar panels. “
